Canada vs Bosnia & Herzegovina kicks off at 19:00 UTC (15:00 local Toronto time) on Friday 12 June 2026 at BMO Field, 170 Princes' Blvd, Toronto. It's a Group B fixture in the 2026 FIFA World Cup — Canada's opening match as co-hosts.
Group B also contains Qatar and Switzerland. Canada's remaining group games are in Vancouver at BC Place: Qatar on 18 June and Switzerland on 24 June.
Where to get tickets
The major FIFA lottery phases — Visa Presale, Early Ticket Draw, and Random Selection Draw — have closed. The Last-Minute Sales phase launched on 1 April 2026 and sells tickets first-come, first-served with immediate confirmation. This is your final option to buy directly from FIFA.
FIFA's Official Resale Marketplace is also open. Verified ticket holders can resell at regulated prices, so check there if Last-Minute Sales runs dry. On the secondary market, prices sit above face value and climb closer to kick-off — budget accordingly.
Avoid sellers outside FIFA's official channels. Use resale platforms that offer buyer protection and verified listings.
About BMO Field
BMO Field opened in 2007 with a capacity of around 30,000. MLSE is adding temporary seating to reach approximately 45,000 for the World Cup. The stadium is home to Toronto FC (MLS) and the Toronto Argonauts (CFL), and has hosted MLS Cup finals in 2010, 2016, and 2017.
BMO Field will host six World Cup matches in total — five group stage games and one Round of 16 tie.
Getting to the ground
GO Transit is your easiest option. Exhibition GO Station is a 2–5 minute walk from the stadium and connects to Union Station on the Lakeshore GO line. TTC streetcar routes 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst both stop within walking distance.
If you drive, use the Gardiner Expressway or Lake Shore Boulevard. Parking is available nearby but expect heavy congestion on matchday — public transit is more reliable.
Arrive well before kick-off. A World Cup opener for the host nation will draw large crowds, and security queues at major tournaments move slowly.
Head-to-head and group context
Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina have never met before. Canada are ranked 27th by FIFA (as of June 2026) and qualified as co-hosts. Bosnia & Herzegovina are ranked 71st and qualified via the UEFA second-round play-off, which included Italy, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
Canada have appeared at two previous World Cups (1986 and 2022) without a win or draw. Bosnia & Herzegovina's only previous World Cup appearance was in 2014.
The top two teams in Group B advance to the round of 32. The third-placed team can also progress depending on results across all groups.
